Boi-1da

The Space

This creative suite was realized at a private estate for noted producer Boi 1da. The space features a 420 sq.ft. control room, that is also leveraged as vocal record space as needed. The space is oriented, not around a traditional console but rather a reverse shaped custom desk that allows Boi 1da and his collaborators to work inclusively intimate to the sound field.

The production space incorporates controlled reflection geometry which provides a smooth and uniform response for the Augspergers and the Genelec ATMOS system. The room is designed with a significant amount of low frequency absorption and ¼ sawn walnut diffusor surfaces on the rear walls and ceiling. Natural light comes from the rear of the room which incorporates an automated LCD glass for privacy.

The technical system, designed by Revolution Custom Shop, allows collaborators working on laptops to access the monitoring system to share ideas. The studio has a central protools HDX system where elements are brought together for mix.

The space allows Boi 1da and his high-level collaborators to work in a fluid manner on ideation, recording, overdubbing, and mixing.
